Diary Entry 22: Greenhouse
Our home is the greenhouse for all other ministry.
If you have a family then you have been given ground to nurture the call of God on your life.
Ministry begins at home as your foundation. Your home is the greenhouse for cultivating The Word, prayer, and the building up of the Holy faith in love.
The Lord gave me a picture once of my blog name HOMESCHOOLTHINGZ on a blank page. Over time I realised He was not only showing me to rethink the vision of my blog by bringing His Kingdom into it, but also to realise that our life and ministry in the home is the foundation (the blank page) for all other projects and ministry.
When Jesus prayed in John 17, He said that He came for the 12 disciples. The Father gave Him the 12 to keep. THEY were His mission. As you read John 17 may you see that, in the same way, those right in front of you are yours to keep for the Father.
May this be your encouragement to let your life in the home be the greenhouse for your faith and ministry of reconciliation. You may have a vision to write, preach or anything that advances His Kingdom; and I encourage you to pursue this, on the basis that your home is the watering ground.
As you receive your own children in Christ, it is as a greenhouse abiding in the Rest of God, cultivating fruitfulness of the Spirit. As you do you will have more fruit to give to those around you. You will pour out more as your own flourishes.
The world today struggle to receive their own children and they have trained the children of God to do the same. Do not conform to the world, instead receive your kids today as worship to the Lord. Be confident that you are keeping them from being instructed by the world to be led into sin; and be confident in the plans and purposes He has for them.
